Corporate Certifications and Policies

For a food company today, it is essential to certify the quality, safety and wholesomeness of its products as well as the environmental and ethical sustainability of its activities.

Finagricola does this through a series of national and international certifications. These range from UNI EN ISO 9001, which certifies the company’s management system, to two quality certifications in the supply chain of large-scale distribution (GDO) products: one for Great Britain, the BRC (British Retail Consortium); and the other at international level, the IFS (International Food Standard).

We have also obtained KOSHER certification: we care about the fact that our product can also be eaten by observant Jews and therefore respects their dietary rules.

The flagship of the company is the UNI EN ISO 22005 certification of the food chain. It is in fact only recognised where it is possible to determine the history of the product from beginning to end, identifying every single phase of its process, with the possibility of knowing information such as the plot of origin, care and cultivation techniques, controls, the logistical route followed and much more.

Company policies

FINAGRICOLA Soc. Coop. has set out its company policies in the document ‘Company Policies for Quality, Food Safety, Traceability of the Agro-Food Chain, Environment, Occupational Safety and Ethics.

UNI EN ISO 9001

Standard for Quality Management Systems. It is the founding organisational standard of the company’s Management System, involving the planning and coordination processes of farms and the production of fresh and canned vegetables.

UNI EN ISO 22005

Traceability in agri-food supply chains. The agri-food chain certification involves the leading company Finagricola, 9 member farms of the Coop and the Nursery; it aims to determine the history and origin of the product, identifying all the organisations involved, from the nursery production phase to the field cultivation phase, up to industrial processing, strengthening the company’s traceability and food safety systems.

BRC – IFS FOOD

Global Standard on Food Safety. Certification of compliance with these standards is recognised by all operators in the food supply chain, and in particular by large-scale retailers, as it allows them to have guarantees on the ability of their suppliers to produce safe food, correctly manage product quality and meet customer requirements.

GRASP

GRASP is short for ‘GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice’. It is an additional module of the GLOBALG.A.P. standard, which contains social and ethical requirements and aims to improve working conditions and respect workers’ rights.
Certification status for the voluntary GRASP module was achieved by Finagricola in option 2, and by the Cooperative’s member farms in option 1.

GLOBAL G.A.P.

GLOBALG.A.P. Standard for Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA). It provides for the certification of the agricultural production and cultivation process and ensures that only products that reach a certain level of compliance with established Good Agricultural Practices (G.A.P.) are certified.
Finagricola has achieved GLOBALG.A.P. certification in option 2.
